Dupont Explosives Depot - Treadwell Mining Area This video is about a 3.5 mile hike south of Juneau, Alaska to an old explosives depot used by the Treadwell Mining Company in the early 1900's. This location was to prevent any unexpected accidents that may happen in an unpopulated area.
East Glacier Trail w/ view of Nugget Falls In this video, I take you on the east side of the Mendenhall Glacier on a trail with views of waterfalls and other scenic views. The next time you're in Juneau, you should plan on this hike. Its very easy as well as challenging. It's very enjoyable for all ages.
Scenic Auke Lake Trail Take a leisurely walk along the east side of the Auke Lake. Easiest hike I've taken so far. Well maintained and I recommend it to anyone who likes walking or even bicycling on a path half way around this lake.
Spaulding Meadows Trail Spaulding Meadows trailhead is located about 1/2 mile north of Auke Bay, along the Glacier Highway. This is a more challenging trail and one should be prepared for a lengthy hike. Alot of Skunk cabbage along the way as well as wild flowers. Great views of Auke Bay from the trail as well as some peaceful meadows to explore.
Peterson Creek outflow near Amalga Harbor There is nothing more exciting than watching bears feed on spawning salmon in the wilderness. Watch a black bear feast on salmon in the stream flowing out of Peterson Lake. This is my first video and I had a blast making it.
